The new book by Ricki Lack and Abby Epstein the creators of the groundbreaking film "The Business of Being Born"(available to my clients in my lending library), opens Chapter 1 with a story of a birth I attended. The book offers women some great information intended to empower you to make informed choices during your journey to parenthood. I am quoted: "You can't have a child without going on a journey, whatever that journey will be. A woman has to get to know her body, get to know her baby, start to understand her fears, and experience how her hormones change and how what she learns from the people she speaks with along the way affect her ideas about the birth. What she decides at week ten might be the opposite of what she's confident of at week thirty-five. This is a process that puts the woman at the center, and we go on the journey with her.
